When you submit to Expansion Capital Group via API, MCA Pilot automatically submits the deal info and business owners, uploads the signed application and bank statements, checks the submission status in real time, and brings the response straight into the deal.

For the standard API setup flow shared by all funder integrations, see Set up a funder API integration. This article covers Expansion Capital Group-specific details.

Before you begin

Reach out to your Expansion Capital Group partner or API contact to request API credentials and development access. They will issue you a Development API token.

Connect the API in Development

  1. In MCA Pilot, go to the Funders page and create or click into Expansion Capital Group.

  2. Open the Submission Method tab and click Edit in the top right.

  3. Choose API Integration as the Submission Method.

  4. Select Expansion Capital Group for API Funder and Development for API Environment.

  5. In the API Key field, enter your API token, partner email, and partner rep name separated by commas, for example: 3f91b7e8-a209-4c73-8642-1d5e908bf3a7,[email protected],Jane Smith

Test the integration

  1. Submit a test deal that includes all required info and documents (business owners, bank statements, and the signed application).

  2. Hover over the submission on the deal page and click Check Status to get the latest response.

  3. If the test is successful, hover over the submission and copy the Response.

  4. Email the Response to your Expansion Capital Group contact and ask to move to production.

Switch to production

  1. Wait for Expansion Capital Group to send your production credentials.

  2. Return to the Expansion Capital Group funder page, open Submission Method, and click Edit.

  3. Replace the API Key with your production credentials.

  4. Change API Environment to Production and save.

When Expansion requests additional documentation, the submission moves to Pending and the Response shows what's needed.

Important notes

  • Your partner email must be registered with Expansion. Expansion validates it against the reps under your ISO; an unrecognized email is ignored (the deal still submits), so make sure it matches what Expansion has on file or submissions won't be attributed to your rep.

  • Legal structures are converted to Expansion's entity types (LLC, Corporation, Partnership, Sole Proprietor); anything else is sent as "Other".

  • Up to 2 business owners are submitted (highest ownership percentage first).

  • Landlord fields are optional and left blank.

Troubleshooting

If a submission errors, hover over the submission and click View error to see the exact message. Fix the missing or invalid fields on the deal and resubmit.
