When AI Underwriting does not extract positions or financials from bank statements, or the deal status stays incomplete, run this checklist before contacting support. Most issues are resolved by verifying the file type and the upload method first.
AI Underwriting returns no extraction
If the Underwrite tab shows no financials or positions after you run AI Underwriting, check file placement, file contents, and trigger method in this order. Fix one item at a time, then re-run the workflow.
Check the file placement. Open the deal and confirm the bank statement is attached to the Bank Statements field, not to a different document field. If a checking statement was misfiled, move it into Bank Statements before you re-run AI Underwriting.
Check the file contents. AI Underwriting only processes checking account bank statements. It ignores savings statements, credit card statements, credit reports, loan documents, applications, and other documents. Replace any non-checking file with the correct statement, then re-run AI Underwriting.
Check the trigger method. AI Underwriting runs automatically only when statements arrive through an application form integration. If you uploaded statements manually inside MCA Pilot, open the deal, go to the Underwrite tab, and click AI Underwriting yourself.
Re-run only after placement is fixed. Do not click AI Underwriting repeatedly on a misfiled document. Move the file into Bank Statements first, then run the workflow once.
Check the deal status and missing documents
After you run AI Docs Check, look at the deal status:
If the application and the last 3 months of bank statements are present, the status updates to Ready to Submit.
If something is missing, the status updates to Missing Documents and the system writes what is missing.
To see the missing items, click the Notes button on the deal. The Documentation Check field shows a summary like Missing 2 of 4 required documents, and the Missing Documents field lists the specific items.
Positions are not extracted
AI Underwriting captures active positions. In the current version, Active and Total positions are treated as the same value.
Confirm the uploaded files are checking account statements and are in the Bank Statements field.
Re-run AI Underwriting after moving or replacing files.
If the positions still do not appear, the model may not have detected them in the statement layout. Enter them manually so the deal can proceed to funder matching.
AI underwriting is still being improved. If the model consistently misses positions or financials for a specific bank or statement format, let support know so the workflow can be refined.
