Funder Watermark: logo your statements automatically at submission

Apply your logo to every statement as the deal goes out — per funder, with the ones that reject watermarks excluded, and your stored copy kept clean.

Before you turn this on: if you already watermark statements another way, stop first — running two watermarking methods marks the same statement twice. There are two to check: the Watermark Statements button you click on a deal (just stop using it), and automatic watermarking on your intake form, which is set up on our end. If your intake form watermarks statements, message us in the chat and we'll turn it off before you switch this on. Funder Watermark replaces both — use one method, and this is the recommended one.

What it does

When you submit a deal, Funder Watermark applies your Watermark Logo across every bank statement as it goes out to the funder. Your stored copy stays clean — the logo is added only on the outgoing submission.

Each funder gets their own watermarked copy, and you can exclude any funder that doesn't accept watermarked statements — their submission goes out clean while everyone else's stays marked. Rapid Finance, for example, rejects watermarks.

Why use it instead of the other two methods

There are three ways to watermark statements, and you should use only one:

  • Funder Watermark (recommended) — automatic, at submission, per funder. Exclude the funders that refuse marks, and your stored copy stays clean.

  • Watermark by hand — clicking Watermark Statements on each deal. Manual on every deal, and you can't exclude a funder.

  • Intake watermarking — marks the stored copy when the deal arrives. Every funder gets the same marked copy, you can't send a clean one to funders that reject watermarks, and your stored statement is marked. This one is configured on our end.

If you switch to Funder Watermark, turn the other two off — otherwise statements go out double-watermarked.

What gets watermarked

Bank statements only. The application form is not watermarked — the logo would cover it. If you want a per-funder trace mark on the application too, use Funder Stamp — the two are independent and can run together.

Turning it on

First, stop watermarking statements any other way:

  • The Watermark Statements button — simply stop clicking it on your deals.

  • Intake-form watermarking — this is set up on our side, so you can't switch it off yourself. Message us in the chat (bottom-right) and ask us to turn off watermarking on your intake form. If you're not sure whether your intake form watermarks statements, ask us and we'll check.

Then go to Settings → Features → Watermark and switch on Watermark Submissions per Funder. It's off by default, applies to your whole workspace, and requires a Watermark Logo.

Excluding a funder

Open that funder's page, go to Details, and switch on Exclude from Watermark — their submissions go out clean while every other funder still gets your watermark. Rapid Finance rejects watermarks, so exclude any funder like it.

Common questions

How do I turn off watermarking on my intake form?
Message us in the chat (bottom-right) and ask us to turn it off. It's configured on our end, so we handle it for you — usually the same day. Do this before you switch on Watermark Submissions per Funder so your statements aren't marked twice.

What if the watermarking fails?
Your submission still goes. If the service is unavailable, the statement sends unwatermarked rather than sitting in a queue. We never block a submission over a watermark.

Does it stack with Funder Stamp?
Yes — they're independent. The watermark is your logo (branding); the stamp is a per-funder trace mark. You can run both, though some funders (Rapid Finance) reject heavy watermarking, so exclude those from one or both.

Do you store the watermarked copies?
No. They're generated at send time; your stored statement stays clean.
