Funder Stamp: trace a leaked deal back to the funder

Mark every PDF with the funder's name and a reference, so a shopped deal points back to whoever received it.

What it does

When you submit a deal, Funder Stamp adds a light diagonal mark across every page of every PDF:

Submitted to Titan Merchant Funding - 07/15/2026 - Ref 1696764

Each funder gets their own copy with their own name on it. Submit the same deal to six funders and six differently-marked versions go out. If those statements resurface somewhere they shouldn't, the mark identifies which funder's copy it was.

Why it looks the way it does

The mark is tiled diagonally across the page, not tucked in a corner. A corner mark is trivially cropped off. Tiling means removing it means damaging the statement.

It's deliberately subtle — light enough to read the statement through, dark enough to read off a printout or a screenshot.

It is not a guarantee. Someone determined to re-key the numbers into a fresh document can defeat any visual mark. Funder Stamp is built to catch the realistic case: a copy being forwarded or re-shopped as-is.

What gets stamped

  • Bank statements

  • The application form

  • Every funder you submit to — both email and API-integration funders.

Turning it on

Go to Settings → Features → Watermark and switch on Stamp Submissions per Funder. It's off by default, applies to your whole workspace, and it's free.

You don't need Watermark Logo on for this. The stamp works on its own, and some funders' OCR reads statements better with just one of the two applied.

Excluding a funder

Some funders don't want marked documents. Open that funder's page, go to Details, and switch on Exclude from Funder Stamp — their copies go out clean while everyone else's stay stamped.

Some funders reject marked statements — Rapid Finance, for example. For any funder that refuses watermarks, switch on Exclude from Funder Stamp on their page.

Common questions

Does it slow my submissions down?
Marking happens as the deal goes out and typically adds a second or two per file.

What if the marking fails?
Your submission still goes. If the service is unavailable, the deal sends unstamped rather than sitting in a queue. We never block a submission over a watermark.

Can funders still read or OCR the statements?
Yes. The document stays a real PDF — the text is still selectable and machine-readable, only the mark is drawn on top. If you also turn on Watermark Logo, both marks stack, and some funders (Rapid Finance, for one) reject statements with heavy watermarking. If a funder complains about readability, use the stamp alone.

Does it change my file names?
No. Names go out exactly as they were.

Do you store the marked copies?
No. They're generated at send time and discarded.
