Some funders require that all submission emails include a specific prefix in the subject line. MCA Pilot lets you configure this on a per-funder basis so you don't have to make separate submissions for those funders.
How Subject Lines Are Built
When you submit a deal, the subject line is constructed in this order:
Funder-Specific Prefix (if configured)
General Submissions Prefix (default: "New Deal: ")
Deal Name
Example:
Funder Prefix | General Prefix | Deal Name | Final Subject Line |
[CFG] | New Deal: | ABC Company | [CFG] New Deal: ABC Company |
(none) | New Deal: | ABC Company | New Deal: ABC Company |
Setting Up a Funder-Specific Prefix
Navigate to Funders page in the top menu
Click on the funder you want to configure
Select the Submission Method tab
Find the Subject Line Prefix field
Enter the required prefix (include any spacing you need at the end)
Save your changes
Note: No space is automatically added after the funder prefix. If you want a space between the prefix and the rest of the subject line, include it in your prefix (e.g., "[CFG] " instead of "[CFG]").
When to Use This
Use this feature when a funder has told you they require a specific identifier in all submission subject lines. Common examples include:
Broker codes or identifiers (e.g., "[ABC123]")
Funder-specific tags (e.g., "[CFG]", "EBF-")
Required routing codes
Once configured, the prefix will automatically be added to every submission you send to that funder—no need to remember it each time.
